Wiggins set for World Championships

Sir Bradley Wiggins, the Olympic champ, thinks that gaining a stone in weight would improve his scopes in World Championships in Florence next month. Earlier, the 33 year old rider missed Tour de France because of a knee injury. But, later he made a really impressive return with a win in the thirty-seven kilometers time trial at Tour of Poland.

Bradley Wiggins told that carrying extra weight is real hard, but if one gets in a time trial and he won by a minute, it really pays off. Sir Bradley is taking part in the 56.8 kilo-meter time trial on 25th September on Tuesday.

2012 was really magnificent for him when he became the very first British rider to become victorious in the tour, won the Olympic time trial. That year, he was also named the BBC Sports Personality of the Year and he also got a knighthood. Later he was disrupted by injury and illness, and even though he topped the sports betting, he never got a chance to regain his Tour title.

Earlier in May, he was forced to withdraw his name from Giro d’Italia because of chest infection. Later he chose not to take part in the Tour de France because of injury concerns. He told that it was the best thing not to participate in the tour.

Speaking about his Team Sky team-mate and compatriot Chris Froome’s win in this year’s race, he told that he was undoubtedly the favorite to win the race. He has seen what Chris was doing leading up to the Tour. He just did what he does for the whole year. It was really incredible. The team also did a good job and they really showed that they really did not need Wiggins in the team. He added that Chris has earned the right to lead the team next year and repeat their success once again.
