Making his debut at the vueta e San Juan, Vincenzo Nibali is set to appear at the Bahrain Merida race event in the early part of the New Year.
Nibali who will be participating at the Vuelta San Juan in January 2017 will be racing alongside other cyclists like Fernando Gaviria, Bauke Mollema and Tom Boonen.
The event will be held from January 23 to 29. The race will feature four other teams in total, these teams are: Trek Segafredo, TJ sport, Quick Race and Bahrain Merida. with the new year holding so much promise, each of these teams are set to bring their best packages to the track with all intentions of victory.
Being one of the first races in the New Year, these four teams will be participating in the event to be held in San Juan, Argentina. However, while many fans and enthusiasts of the sport may look forward to the outing, the participation of the TJ sport team seems quite uncertain as the future of the team remains unsecured, the Chinese team has been waiting on the UCI for a racing license to enable them compete.
The New Year will bring with it the 35th edition of the Vuelta a San Juan event, but the 2017 competition is bound to be different as it will be the first time since the history of the Vuelta that such number of international teams have participated.
While this may be his first time at the Vuelta a San Juan, Vincento is not one to be regarded as a rookie to racing in Argentina as he had used the tour de san luis as a part of his racing schedule in the previous seasons. The race would be a starting ground for his preparation for the Giro d Italia, an event he plans to win for the third time in his cycling career.
